John R. Finton, 66, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, John was the son of the late John "Jack" Finton and Joan Finton who survives. He attended Central Catholic High School and graduated from South Side High School. He was a proud Vietnam War Marine veteran. He worked as a welder at Diester Machine Shop for many years prior to his retirement. John enjoyed working on cars, and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. His other hobbies were watching NASCAR, camping, water skiing and bowling. Surviving are his companion of 18 years, Janice Henry; mother, Joan Finton of Roanoke; children, Tony Finton of Hamilton, MO, Shannon (David) Ramos of Fort Wayne, William Finton of Huntington, and Tonja Gayhart of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Sam, Joseph, Abigail, Isabell, Adam, Cheyenne; siblings, Jim (Sandra) Finton, Raymond Finton both of Fort Wayne, Charles (Cindy) Finton of Knapp, and Cynthia (Louis) Guretis of Roanoke.
